Ruby & Jack
The Name Ruby Jack’s comes from the joining of two names, those being the Grandma & Grandpa of Matthew, Chef Director & co-owner of RUBY JACK’S. Born in 1904, Ruby, was a really beautiful person who enjoyed life to the fullest. One of 13 siblings and a lively little girl she ran away from home at the tender age of 13 to look after a neighbour’s child, when discovered by a distraught Mother 6 months later, she innocently said that the family really needed her help. Ruby’s motto in life was “There is good in everybody”.
Jack, born in 1911 was a top class all round sportsman with rugby being his favoured sport, he played first grade rugby for Manly in Sydney before going off to war. Jack loved a big steak, a glass of Big Red and hanging out with friends and loved ones alike.
